Picture of the Day

  • This photo makes me think of all of the wounded men and women who come back from Iraq - who we hear very little about. Really more casualties.

  • What has angered me the most about this war is the fact that the Bush Administration has played a game with our military men and women.

Not only have they [Cheney, Rummy, Rice, Bush] pressed our military into a phoney war, but they have used our fighting and dying military as game pieces in the propaganda. The old, familiar and trite phrase, 'Support our troops,' thought up by evil propagandists in the administration, is such a cruel ploy to keep our citizens from criticizing their pre-emptive war.

And it has worked all of the way through the '04 election, guaranteeing Bush and his cadre 4 more years of license to create havoc both in this nation and around the world under the disguise of 'terror.'

At last, after 3 years of propaganda [some of which was paid journalistic propaganda], the American people are finally waking up to the ruse that was played on them by this neocon cadre that has usurped the Republican Party.

What is most sad to me is the many military men and women who still believe the lies told to them about the necessity of this war, who blindly march off to their deaths thinking that they are 'serving their country.' How reprehensible!

History will show the truth of all of this, and one can already predict the truth based on other wars of the past; yet why is it that our nation continues to blindly forget the lessons of the past? Is our nation so dumbed-down? Is the new type of military propaganda so utterly effective? Is patriotism so blind?
