2,376

The Department of Defense has identified 2,376 American service members who have died since the start of the Iraq war. It confirmed the deaths of the following Americans yesterday:

LUEKEN, Eric R., 23, Cpl., Marines; Dubois, Ind.; Third Marine Division.

RAMSEYER, Jason C., 28, Staff Sgt., Marines; Lenoir, N.C.; Third Marine Division.

  • There were about 2,700 people killed in the 9/11 Twin Tower attack.

So in order to save American lives and prevent a similar number of deaths, we've sent 2,376 American servicemen to their deaths in Iraq alone. I'm not gettin' the return on investment here.

And don't get me started on the 10s of thousands of uncounted (and unvalued) Iraqi women and children (and men) who've been killed or violently maimed as a side effect to our Marching Freedom into Baghdad at the end of a gun.

  • You're right.

And, let's not leave out that these are just those killed in Iraq.

Also, I know you know this, but Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11. These soldiers did not die to prevent a terror attack.

  • The died to prevent a mysterious future attack that existed only in the mind of the Dear Leader... and his cabal. And as you know, if the Dear Leader imagines it, it's the same as if God commanded it.

  • Yeah, I know that you weren't making that connection, I was trying to be explicit.
