I think it's early yet to declare Leopold in-credible. But he's sure getting the heat treatment.

Yeah, I've seen a bunch of these.
My doubts are rising about the accuracy like everyone else's, but, honestly, I believe the reporting was honest. I've been keeping a really close eye on this, listening to Leopold and reading the Truthout editors, I believe that they reported what they were told.
My hunch is that Leopold or his sources were set up. I don't know that for a fact, that's just a feeling. He's been getting incredible sourcing on the Plame investigation and with his credibility history and small publisher, he's an easy target to destroy. And, if the plea deal for Rove discussed Friday pointed to Cheney, burning him to keep the story down through the midterms would be good strategy.
He could be just straight out lying, but for some reason that's not my sense of it.
I set a deadline of tomorrow after lunch to issue an update/apology/correction if there's been no confirmation. At that point I'll put more formal thoughts on the front page.
I haven't forgotten, but as there haven't been any real developments IN THE STORY since Luskin's denial, I haven't posted on it.
