Republicans budgeted Iraq victory celebration

Take a look at this.
Tucked away in fine print in the military spending bill for this past year was a lump sum of $20 million to pay for a celebration in the nation’s capital “for commemoration of success” in Iraq and Afghanistan.

In the latest bill is rolled over into 2007.

(Can I get the interest off that money? With the current trajectory, it might well carry me into retirement.)

  • No money for NOLA, but lots of money for the fat cats to celebrate!

  • Yeah. I caught part of Cafferty tonight and one of the emailers pointed out that if that $20 mil was divided among the families of those killed it would pay for a $7,000 funeral for each of them.

  • Iraqis are proving harder to control and manipulate than American voting machines... and sheep.
