Iraq longer than WWII

Looking back at the broad sweep of history, as Mr. Bush likes to do, long US wars are losses.
The US involvement in Iraq will pass another sad milestone on Sunday, when it overtakes the length of America's engagement in World War II.

  • We entered WWII with bi-planes still in service.... We exited WWII with jets.

    Over the course of the Iraq debacle, how far have we come in the way of energy independence? Where's my generation's Manhattan Project? Not a novel question, I know, but I had to ask.
