The pattern is bcoming strikingly familiar. A strike on a target in Pakistan. Claims it was carried out by the Pakistanis and that it killed a key Al Qaeda target. Then, slowly, the story backs down.

I don't know why it suddenly struck me, but how?
The Americans, his "allies" who are disliked by some 70-75% of Pakistan are bombing and killing his people.
(And the US is giving massive nuclear technologies to their nuclear rival.)
What does that do for his credibility?
As bad as Iraq is/will be, a coup in Pakistan could be 100X worse.
