12,000 more National Guard to Iraq

NBC is reporting that an order for deploying 12,000 more National Guard troops to Iraq is sitting on Robert Gates' desk. No word yet on the units or whether they have previously served in Iraq or Afghanistan.

I'm sure they and their families are thrilled.

Update: Yes, it would be their second deployment.
