Picture of the Day - 3

Okay, on one hand, I have to compliment Romney for making fun of himself, but on the other hand, if he's trying to be tough hunter guy, maybe he should have used a real squirrel rather than a stuffed animal.

  • I guess it's OK to make shit up if your a Republican, as long as you say act like a fool when caught. Remember Bush's "comedy" video looking for WMDs under his desk? Yeah, funny as an IED....

What is it with Republicans and their "ethics is for other people" attitude.

  • It's really an accomplishment when you take a gun and shoot at animals from a distance. I want to see those REAL mean charge a wild board with a knife, or even a stone or a stick, instead of shooting little feathery grassland/woodland creatures.

  • EPM "Funny as an IED" - I'm gonna steal that for a post title in the future.

And, I don't see this as that serious. I mean, compared to the other positional lies being told by Romney, this is nothing.

    ...
    Romunov,

I'm not a hunting fan. My dad took me once or twice when I was younger, but it never appealed to me.

I think its popularity is a response to a modern life of suburbia and bosses and responsibilities.

It contains elements of both power and fantasy escape.

And, definitely draw a distinction between hunting and caged hunts like Cheney does. Those are paying for the experience of killing.

  • Real mean. Oh Dawkins, I can't even spell anymore. I ofcourse meant "men".

  • Yeah.

I really don't get the mainline hunting thing, although I do know a guy who would sometimes bow hunt, sometimes with a gun who would dress and kill his own meat, and as a point of pride would find a use for literally every part of the animal.

    I always respected that.

  • Gotta love "Dances with wolves". :D

I believe there are chances that if people had to kill their own meat, 90 % of the Western population would be vegetarian.
