We do have the language to describe the conflict in Iraq, it's just that those war supporters refuse to ascribe it to it:quagmire.

Lew, yes and no. You're right that that describes the situation better than any other, but as for descriptive language that might be used in the manner of establishing a mission as it were, there's really nothing.
The US is trying to conduct a mission against an enemy and battlefield they cannot even define.

Never mind not being able to describe the war we're in, we don't even know who the enemy is beyond "evildoers." Actually, the war-lovers conflate everything into either al Qaeda or some caricature of "extremist."
You go to war with the enemy you believe you have, not the enemy you actually have... if you're a neo-con.
