The US loses on the Caspian pipeline

After years of dedicated US diplomacy attempting to bring the Caspian pipeline out of Russian control, the route has finally been settled. Putin won.

  • Is this another example of Bush snatching defeat from the jaws of victory... where his efforts to promote democracy results in pushing the would-be nations (and groups) further away from the West?

Bush has fulfilled the prophecies of radical Islamist propagandists. Is it possible he is also fulfilling the propaganda of the neo-Stalinists about the ugliness of American capitalism and abuse of power?

  • And this is a big symbolic loss, because this determines the outflow for the top undeveloped petro pipelines.

This was a top focus for years.
