Picture of the Day

(NYTimes) New commercial satellite photos show that a Syrian site that Israel bombed last month no longer bears any obvious traces of what analysts said appeared to have been a partly built nuclear reactor.

  • I admittedly don't know what I'm talking about, but the "after" photo shows no debris or craters. Could this just be Syria doing a quick clean up? Seems weird to me...

  • Me too. The whole thing has me completely misunderstanding. No story seems to fit the facts of no one talking about it.

At one point, I started going X files, maybe it was a biological experiment gone bad or something else where the Syrians didn't mind a little help.

    I just don't know,

  • All we need now is a shadowy, cigarette smoking guy lurking around a press conference...

I'm with you. This whole incident doesn't pass the sniff test. Good thing we have an aggressive independent press filled with passionate journalists just itchin' to uncover the real story... No, wait. I flashed back to the '70s for a minute.

  • Again, I'm not saying there's some X Files explanation, but it's almost being treated that way.
