Picture of the Day

Is it just that I'm continually shocked, or is Lieberman campaigning with McCain more than any other politician "team" than I can remember?

They're together in Iraq today with the third and lesser musketeer Lindsay Graham.

  • Lieberman's role has been more as a de facto VP than merely a McCain surrogate. Not only because of his uncompromising loyalty, but that he is so often with McCain. Most surrogates spread out across the country and airwaves to preach the gospel of their candidate. Contrarily, Lieberman is often with McCain on the road.

  • EPM, yeah, that's what it seems like. Submissive junior sidekick, although he hasn't taken up the attack dog role.

And is McCain's VP? I don't think so, but his name has to be in the hat.

  • I'm sure Joe hopes John will make it through 4 years.

  • No. I don't think Lieberman is really the GOP VP. Just that his role in McCain's campaign is something unique and apart from just that of a surrogate.

  • I really don't know what Lieberman's game is. My best guess is that part of his motivation is driving up his after office price when he gets the token Dem fellowship at the AEI.
