It's not about the gas tax, it's about "the battle over" the gas tax.

It always seems to be about 'reframing' the narrative, doesn't it?

I thought it was McCain who brought up that 'no gas tax for awhile' stuff, and not Hillary. Am I wrong about that? The headlines are making it seem as though it's all her.

Nope. It was his baby to start, then about a week later, Clinton picked it up.

He's backed way off (perhaps because everyone who knows anything is saying it's a bad idea,) but she just keeps pressing on.
