Yeah. I remember way back some mealy-mouth stuff from Republican congress critters... either self deluded or trying to shift media focus off the real issues.
I thought you were seeing some Republican voter surveys or something that indicated that self-identified Republicans today still blame their downfall on Mark Foley.

No. As I was reading all the breathless bemoaning of the Republicans losing their "brand", for some reason I thought back to the multiple people, especially the Congressional leadership, trying to explain away those 2006 election losses.
Their belief that their "brand" was fine, it was just Mark Foley......
