Giuliani?

I just kicked on the coverage, so I'm a little out of context, but Giuliani's tone and the anger in the room feels really off, really weird. Is that my bias?

And did he just throw out a Don King, "only in America" reference? The crowd got it. How close to the racist line is that?

  • This may be a low blow, but they just cut to a shot of Miss Buffalo Chip holding Trig.

    Where's mom?

  • Ten dollars for the first one to show a picture of Todd holding the baby Trig, (or is it Trigg?) Not in the "First Dude's" job description I'm guessing.

(Actually, I have no idea... I'm just going on a GOP, real men don't hold babies, stereotype)

  • I think Jesus just got the biggest cheer of the whole speech.

  • Rudy: How dare they question whether she has enough time to spend with her children! How dare they!

Director: Ooo! ooooo! Cut back to Cindy and Trig!

    [Sorry, I'm on a roll]

  • Jeff, she's there. They keep cutting to her.

    ....

EPM, I'm kinda half watching, but yeah, I don't know if I've ever seen him holding a baby.

    ....

And, people, please forgive me but when I heard that line,

Rudy: "How dare they question whether she has enough time to spend with her children!"

All I could think was, "It's not like her daughter went out and got knocked up or anything."

  • Ha!

And isn't it James Dobson who's questioning whether she has enough time to spend with her children and attend to the duties of VP??? Classic GOP straw man: make up something outrageous, stuff it in your opponent's mouth, and then declare "How dare you suggest such a thing."

  • Yup. It's the same perpetual need for enemies that led us into Iraq.

It's a basic flaw of the fascist method of population control.

  • This crowd looks pretty damn white. I think the closest "ethnic" person I've seen is a chick with brown hair, brown eyes, and a deep tan.

  • I frequently play find the minority at GOP events. (The ones propped up in the front row don't count.)

McCain's audiences have tended to be even whiter than Bush's.
