The U.S. military conceded it was not winning the fight against an increasingly deadly insurgency in Afghanistan and said on Wednesday it would revise its strategy to combat militant safe havens in Pakistan.

I think the McCain campaign is trying to work out an angle where this can be perceived as a slight against that shrinking violet, Sarah Palin. We'll know more later.

I think you're right epm. There's always an element of sexism whenever the Joint Chiefs are involved.
