"Waaaaahhhhh"

McCain cries on FoxNews about Obama's fundraising.

(If only we'd done more townhalls...... POW.)

  • From the link:
"He also complained that the identities of people who contributed more than $200 million of Obama's total take have not been reported, although that is allowable under federal law because the individual donations fall under the $200 reporting limit."

    Yeah, that is pretty pathetic.
He's left implying that the $605M Obama has raised could have come from just three people, and that, if so, it's illegal.
And if that's not what he is saying, then what is his point? That Obama followed the law?

Additionally, McCain "conceded he was trailing but said he 'started turning it around the other night' in the final presidential debate."

Yeah. He's got Obama right where he wants him. Apparently everything is going according to his Master Plan.

McCain took public financing because he believed that Party spending and the 527's would offset the financial disadvantage. He was horribly wrong. Party fundraising has been weak relative to previous cycles, which implies that if he had taken the other course he would still be at a disadvantage.

  • Right.

The claims over questionable donors are just an effort to muddy this up. If you think back, they only started complaining about Obama's donors right after the first rumor of a $100 mil September.

As for your last point, definitely. One of the huge unwritten stories of this election cycle is that the GOP 527's have not showed up to make up the gap.

(I'm going to add that to the post above this.)
