Quote - Wal-Mart Employee Trampled to Death

Not a "better than thou," more a "state of affairs."
“When they were saying they had to leave, that an employee got killed, people were yelling, ‘I’ve been on line since yesterday morning,’ ” Ms. Cribbs told The Associated Press. “They kept shopping.”

Also, as this isn't their first event, I gotta imagine that WalMart is legally liable for what takes place at their doors.

  • But what does this say about us? As a culture. As a nations. No, I'm not doing a holier than thou either, but this is the demographic the Michele Bachman's and Sarah Palin's refer to as "real America."

Greed. Selfishness. Rabid consumerism. Isn't that how we got into this predicament?

  • Yeah, and to some degree, I don't blame the people. Walmart was offering an $1800 TV for 800 for the first x number of people that got to them. We're talking real money for people who want the deal enough to have stood outside in the cold overnight.

Frankly, I think it's a "Black Friday" thing, and I think the marketing practices are the issue.

Again, this is the third year in a row where Walmart has had a media worthy injury happen right inside their doors.
