SarahPAC

Echoing yesterday's post, Sarah Palin launches SarahPAC, ostensibly to raise money for GOP candidates around the country.

Of course, if history is any guide, most of the money will end up in her pockets.

  • Is Palin as polarizing a figure as we were told Hillary was?

Is she a fad that will seem a comical caricature in 2-4 years, not to be taken seriously? Or will she truly be a revitalizing engine to the GOP?

Personally, I think she's a crackpot. Ambitious, tenacious, unyielding.... but a crackpot nonetheless.

  • I think she'll be one of those who is beloved by her supporters, and then taken disbelievingly seriously by the media who will be impressed by her control over her supporters, figuring that if that many people like her....

But she never reaches outside the base.

The only way she does is in a populist/fascist way, and I just don't see the environment being ripe for that kind of rise.

  • I think she's Dan Quayle all over again, and will continue to be perceived as the preposterous figure she is. On the other hand, in 1980 people actually voted for Ronald Reagan, so what do I know?

  • I think the body of America will never be able to forget her interview moments, but the people who looked past all those mistakes will be willing to look past anything.

  • Probably because she's trying to prove she's "simple" and not $180,000 clothes hor(se).

I liked the huge assed corsage.
