Hopeful

They'll very probably get blown out, but the US national soccer team is playing the biggest game in their history this afternoon around 2 PM eastern on ESPN.

Good luck, boys. Fight hard.

  • Great game. The US did well to get that far. But there is no stopping Brazil when they get serious.

  • yeah, and 2-0 at the half, too.

  • I think maybe the Brazilian strategy was to let the US attack and wear themselves out. But they weren't supposed to score.

  • Bottom line: They were too tired. Too much running against Egypt. Too much effort against Spain. When Brazil scored, the adrenalin dropped and all the midfield pressure was gone.

Brazilians with time on the ball eventually beat almost anybody.

I'm the biggest US soccer fan I know, and I'm gutted. Yes, it's Brazil, and there's no shame, but it's an opportunity that got away....
