An admission by throwing under the bus

Israel "reprimanded" two officers over the use of white phosphorus shells in the Gaza offensive attack that destroyed the UN building.

"Reprimand" doesn't appear to mean much, but it is a public admission of the use of white phosphorus shells. (Although, blaming the officers is an attempt for the country to escape culpability.)

  • I'm sure that the officers in question went out and purchased the white phosphorus with their own money and went ahead and used them with out approval from their superiors.......

  • Right. Agreed. The blaming officers is clearly an atempted escape.

On the other hand, I believe this is the first admission of use.
