Sen Richard Shelby, Alabama, puts an individual confirmation hold on virtually all of Obama's outstanding nominees (including national security nominees) until he gets a pork project for his district.

(And a nice WaPo blog item on Republicans who complain about spending, but push their own pork. (Are these a White House political op to push back?))

Is the media narrative changing? Is there now an honest recognition that the Republicans are acting in extremely partisan while claiming to be victims of the big bad dems? Will there finally be a public spotlight shone on the lock-stepping, malfeasant Repubs?

I'm not holding my breath.

That's why I'm woondering if the White House is pushing this. It's seeming to appear in multiple places without apparent connection.

As for your last line? Yes. No matter what happens, they can always hide in minority.
